This is a project I started a few years ago with buying movements online and the goal to design my own wristwatch. It turned into a more sophisticated project, when I was offered a drawer full of well conserved sixty year old parts of the renowned movement: The Calibre 1320 from Buren.
The factory in my hometown shut before I was born, but made until the “Quartz-Crisis” some of the best mechanical movements in the world for and with other brands such as Bulova, Hamilton, Baum Mercier, Chopard and Breitling.
The 2.85mm thin automatic movement with its micro rotor off centred, is the starting point of my design.
The goal is to engineer, prototype, design and finally fabricate a few handful of exclusive dress watches.
The buckle, crown and case will be cast in tarnish prove silver, machined and polished. Saphire crystals will also reveal the first time the back of the Buren movement with its 17 jewels to honour the work of its Swiss watch engineer Hans Kocher.

I was asked by the fantastic Alpine Co Working team to join the project for a conversion of the Legler campus in Glarus. It was the first factory in Switzerland with electricity to run their textile production, was the largest jeans manufacturer in Europe in the 1970ies and stood empty since it’s closure in 2001. The plan is to change it into a co-work and retreat place with a 60-bedroom- hotel, offices, restaurant, event hall, lounge, bar, restaurant and even a spa area. There is still a hydro power station feeding 1’500 households in the neighbourhood and an amazing surrounding for all sort of downhill sports!
